Technium The Technium rain wear fabrics are a special Shimano development. Great attention to performance was paid in the selection of fabrics and membranes for the various rain wear items. The following fabrics are available:

Technium 5.000 is a 100% polyester fabric which has a water-repellent membrane (WP5.000mm) with a breathability level of MVP5.000g/m2/day. Technium 5.000 is a technical fabric which repels rainwater yet is still lightweight. This fabric is used in the rain jacket Compact.

Technium 10.000 is a 100% polyamide fabric with a waterproof membrane (WP10.000mm) and has a breathability level of MVP10.000g/m2/day. Technium 10.000 is a technical fabric which is waterproof, while still allowing perspiration to escape. This fabric is used in the women’s rain Jacket, rain jacket Cyclo, rain pants Cyclo and rain jacket Storm.

Dryshield The Dryshield label can be found on our Elite race rain wear and our Multi-function jackets. Dryshield has been exclusively developed for Shimano and is a 100% polyester double-layered fabric, sandwiching a wind- and waterproof membrane (WP10.000mm), allowing perspiration to escape.
Dryshield protects you from wind and rain. The waterproof membrane is laminated between 2 layers of fabric to result in a comfortable feel.

Windflex The Windflex label can be found on wind-protective items. The Windflex fabric is exclusively developed by Shimano and is a 100% polyester double-layered fabric sandwiching a windprotective membrane. Windflex protects you from wind, is comfortable to the touch, lightweight, fast drying, stretchable and breathable.

WF Light WF light is a lightweight 100% polyester fabric, which prevents wind going trough. This fabric has a soft touch and therefore gives a comfortable feeling. This material was specially developed for our Originals Wind vest and Wind breaker and folds down into a small package which is easy to take with you with your bike rides.
